CELEBRATION CHOIR

Our adult choir, Celebration Choir, continues its heritage of participating weekly in our worship services.   Whether the occasion calls for an anthem from the rich heritage of church music God has provided, or a contemporary arrangement from today’s inspired writers, our desire is to celebrate what God has done in our lives;  telling Him how wonderful He is, and telling others what He has done. Currently, we meet at 7:30 PM each Wednesday to worship God with our rehearsal, pray for one another and for the ministry opportunities He is providing.  In addition to leading us in worship in our weekly services and seasonal worship celebrations for Christmas and Easter, the celebration choir also prepares non-seasonal programs to glorify God and edify His church.   Past non-seasonal collections include:  Evidence of Grace, You Made a Way, and Praise Project 2010. We are blessed to have talented instrumentalists who accompany us in all our special programs and our weekly 11 AM worship service.   Their support greatly enriches what God allows us to accomplish, for His glory.

 

BELLS OF PRAISE

God has provided First Baptist Church of Hurricane (FBCOH) with English hand bells and hand chimes to ring to the glory of God, along with a group of dedicated ringers who are willing to commit the time needed to accomplish the music.  The goal of the group is to glorify God regardless of the music selection, pointing listeners to the beauty and majesty of our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.    Visitors are welcomed to attend our rehearsals to see if this might be a part of the FBCOH ministry in which they could serve.  Past music experience at least on the level of middle school band or basic piano is helpful.  The Bells of Praise occasionally minister during FBCOH worship services, prepare seasonal programs, and participate in local and regional hand bell festivals.  While rehearsal is needed, the group does not practice weekly, but scheduled to prepare for ministry opportunities.  In 1 Corinthians 10:31, the scripture says,  “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, (or ring bells, [added to text]),  do all to the glory of God.”     2011 Easter Cantata
